History
Who are we
Our journey began about 45 years ago, at the close of one of the most exciting decades of the past century. Like some of the most influential cultural movements in history, Botas Caborca was also born in the 1970s.
Seeking a place in the world of shoemaking, Luis Torres Muñoz and his two sons, Luis and José Manuel, opened a small boot workshop in León, Guanajuato—one of the world’s most renowned shoemaking cities.
They started small: just six workers producing 12 pairs a day. The company was named Botas Caborca in honor of a small town in northern Mexico, officially beginning operations in April 1978.
For several years, they dedicated themselves to crafting traditional handmade cowboy boots, focusing solely on the Mexican market. Over time, the centuries-old craft of bootmaking became more refined, and the dream slowly began to take shape.
1986 marked a historic turning point: the first pairs were exported to the United States. From that moment on, the company earned recognition across the global footwear industry.
Year after year, the company grew stronger, expanding exports to Canada, Japan, and Italy. Botas Caborca evolved into what is now Caborca Group.
Today, Caborca Group operates five proprietary brands and four manufacturing plants covering over 30,000 square meters, producing around 8,000 pairs each week with the dedication of more than 800 collaborators.
Generations of hard work have forged this legacy. In 45 years, we have built a company deeply rooted in Mexico’s shoemaking tradition.
We take pride in our heritage as much as we take pride in our products—because within them lies the future shaped by our sweat, our effort, and our devotion.
In every pair of boots, we leave our soul and our very being.
Craftsmanship with Legacy
An art that demands mastery and experience.
We are proud—and truly privileged—to be masters of cowboy boot craftsmanship, supported by so many talented and committed artisans who create unique works of art in every pair we make.
At Caborca Group, we have united two worlds: the traditional craft of handmade cowboy boots and the precision of modern footwear manufacturing processes. This fusion has allowed us to achieve impeccable quality and remarkable productivity.
Passion for Detail
Everything we do at Caborca Group, we do with passion. We love our craft, and we honor it.
We create the finest cowboy boots, with each pair undergoing a manufacturing process of more than 200 steps—carried out to the highest standards of quality.
We work with effort and with passion.
More than four decades of hard work have built a legacy of tradition, evident in every pair of boots shaped by the skilled hands of our Mexican artisans.
